Ensuring that transmission lines and towers are in normal working condition is an important task in line maintenance. Due to the lengthy transmission lines and complex crossing environments, various hazardous materials often hang on the lines as the seasons change. Especially in economically developed suburban areas, there have been reports of power outages and personal injury accidents caused by suspended objects. Therefore, timely and effective cleaning of these hanging objects poses higher requirements for power maintenance personnel. The traditional method of clearing obstacles is for workers to climb onto towers or power lines for manual clearance after a power outage. The STL-HLC series laser clearing system we have developed and designed adopts advanced laser technology, combined with the characteristics of high-voltage devices such as overhead lines, and selects laser bands that do not harm the main equipment of the power system operation. We have successfully developed a clearing system that can emit controllable lasers from the ground for long-distance cutting and clearing of high-altitude foreign objects. The use of this device allows staff to perform live, remote, and non-contact operations completely. The system has the characteristics of safety, speed, and live working, and is suitable for removing non-metallic foreign objects from most overhead lines and high-voltage devices.
